Do you yearn for the photographic adventure of a lifetime? Have you always wanted to photograph the African Big Five - as well as the elusive Mountain Gorillas of Uganda -under the guidance of a pro photographer? Are you willing to s-t-r-e-t-c-h to bring home some of the very best wildlife, landscape and cultural shots of your life? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should definitely join me for the African safari that dreams are made of!
For this very special safari I am taking only five people. Participants will get highly individualized attention and will have a complete bench seat to him or herself while in Tanzania for the best photography possible. (A non-photographing significant other may attend, but there is no reduction in safari fees.) This amazing safari starts with a 4-day safari in Uganda to photograph the endangered Mountain Gorillas, followed by a 9-day photo adventure in Tanzania! We will stay at the famous Bwindi Lodge, where gorilla troops are known to peacefully roam through the grounds en route to their mountain feeding locations (see this viral of just such an encounter)! This is a unique opportunity to check off two of the most exotic and photographically astounding places on Earth. I will personally accompany the group throughout, so you will have my photo guidance. The full description is below.
What differentiates my safaris from others is that I negotiate all details from the perspective of a working professional photographer. For example, one of the most frustrating aspects of a photo safari that people report is the issue of two photographers sharing the same bench seat. Imagine the hassles when an animal appears on one side of the vehicle and the photographer on the other side is blocked from capturing once-in-a-lifetime images. This has actually resulted in arguments and even fist-fights!
I limit my safaris so that every photographer has an entire bench seat to him- or herself. No hassles at all. Plenty of room to store your gear and to slide from side to side to capture the action.
My safaris also are all-inclusive. I handle all tipping, VAT fees, and even your laundry fees, so you can focus on… focusing! Any internal flights are included in the pricing and I have even negotiated an increased baggage weight allowance for your internal flights. We also have a photo tent for processing images at the end of the day and for informal learning.
Now for the biggest extra. Once the safari ends, the surprises continue. You will select your best image from the safari and send me the file (details will be provided). Our Master Printer, Bob, will create a large format, 24“ x 36” fine art print (or smaller if you prefer) in our studio and mail it to you for framing and mounting on your wall. A matted and framed 24“ x 36” print is huge (at least 30“ x 42”) and a dynamic addition to your home decor. Our prints are made on museum-quality, acid-free Moab fine art papers, using archival inks on our Canon large format printers. If you take the Tanzania-Uganda safari you will receive two fine art prints, one from each safari.
The fee for this 13-day safari is $18,100 per person, double occupancy. Single occupancy is an additional $850.
A deposit of $8,000 is required to hold your place, with the balance due 120 days prior to the safari. You will be billed for the balance at that time.
Fees are refundable as follows:
Deposit is 100% refundable up to 150 days prior to the start of your safari. Thereafter it is non-refundable. However, if you are able to get someone to take your place by 150 days prior to the start of the safari, your deposit is 100% refundable.
At approximately 150 days from the start of your safari the balance is due and that payment, as well as all prior payments, are non-refundable.
Once you are registered, you will receive an email with all details. Thank you in advance for signing up.
